Whangarei Mountain Bike Club was established in the late 80s with the rise in MTBing popularity around the world and was known as Parahaki Mountain Bike Club.
WMBC has been operating since the days when suspension was unheard of and fluro lyrca was all the rage. Our goal is to establish and grow the sport within the Whangarei region, helping riders connect with one another, to develop an off road cycling community and maintaining an ever-improving network of trails across the district.
We do this through organised working bees, utilizing volunteers our
club builds and maintains trails across two main trail centres; Glenbervie Forest and Parihaka Mountain Bike Park. While these areas are the main focus for our club, there are several other pockets of riding around the district, check out the Trails page for more info, or come along to one of our monthly group rides for a guided tour.
By joining WMBC you help fund these activities. Membership fees fund equipment and consumables to maintan and develop trails. Also public liability insurance, to allow members to work within Rayonier forestry blocks.
Any profit from events goes directly back into organising more events. Become a member of the Whangarei Mountain bike club and enjoy the trails, sights and fun we can offer.
